The choir sang at today's service in Haverö.
Songs:
Lägg i varandras händer fred which happens to be psalm 831. Not a favorite, but a nice tune that requires a little attention.
Gå varsamt min kristen A beautiful, dreamy, swingy tune with words that are best forgotten, in my opinion (Walk carefully, Christian, watch your steps, the road is narrow, etc)
Blott i det öppna har du en möjlighet We have sung this one a lot. It's a little on the low side for me, but otherwise likeable.
Psalms:
Lova herren sol och måne (11?) This one seemed to be new for some, but I actually remember it from school. Nice to not be the complete newbie for once.
Number 168 which I hadn't heard before, and of which I don't even remember the words.
O hur saligt att få vandra (300) A merry song, about joys to come. I know this tune as that of a wellknown table song. A vulgar one at that, if not blasphemous. Today we sang it after the sermon, and after the priest had announced a couple of deaths. I realised that the small group in the first pew were probably the family of one of the deceased. Suddenly I had no trouble at all to avoid giggling through the whole psalm.
Härlig är jorden (297) A classic from end-of-term services, both Christmas and summer.
I haven't posted in ages. Let's see if I can manage to make a habit of it this time.
