My computer just died on me.
And yesterday my browser locked up.
It started again without any fuss, but I think I may need a new computer. I have never had these problems before, even though I often leave it on for weeks. It's not only old, but a little of a mix of different things that happened to be cheap when I needed them. I suppose four to seven years is a reasonable lifetime for computer hardware.

Date: 2013-06-17 03:50 pm (UTC)From:Browser problems happen, even with brand new machines - there's a lot of websites shifting crud, particularly flash in the background.
Second, kernel panics happen occasionally - if it's a regular thing I'd worry, but the occasional one is something to note, but not a sign of immanent failure.
Have you run diagnostics on your hard drive? A faulty drive can cause all kinds of weird problems (if the system can't read something vital, a kernel panic can happen), so that would be the first thing I'd run (Applications->Utilities->Disk Utility).
Best of luck!
